Oneness

I am not that little man or woman cut off from all else. I am the one universal existence.

A perfect man's mind is like a mirror. It reflects everything, rejects nothing—receives everything and keeps nothing.
—Swami Chinmayananda

What is invisible they call "God"; what is visible they call "Nature." In my view, all that is visible is God alone. What science calls "Nature," spirituality calls "God." The same Shakti(energy) seems different to the scientist and the spiritual man... But Nature is itself God.
"Spiritual" is heads and " worldly" is tails… According to your standpoint, one side or the other appears real. One fellow thinks that Reality is behind all THIS, whereas another thinks that THIS is all there is. Both are the same to me. When they say there are two, I unfold it and say there is only ONE.
—Anasuya Devi

There is infinite power inherent in the human heart. But despite such power, man does not have faith in himself. What is the reason for this? The reason is that he feels separate, and he believes he is different from divinity, which in truth, is always inside him as his very core. This same divinity pervades the entire universe. When you develop firm faith in God, you will never have any fear whatsoever; you will recognize that the God you worship is the One who is present everywhere in everyone and in everything, and also in yourself. That belief will remove all vestige of fear from your heart. But if you don’t have that faith, then you will be ridden with fear…
Your faith in the omnipresent is the key to developing fearlessness. Only when you lose faith will you develop fear; only when you forget your true Self will fear arise. You have forgotten your true nature; you have forgotten the Atma. You are considering yourself to be this little five-foot body, but the truth is that you are infinite in form and that your power is unlimited. When you make an effort to remove the delusion and get a vision of the Atma, you become merged in Nirvana. Then you can call yourself a real human being. If you do not make any effort along this path, you are not a man but a man in name only.

What you do not know is that the entire universe is your body and you need not be afraid of it. You may say you have two bodies; the personal and the universal. The personal comes and goes, the universal is always with you. The entire creation is your universal body. You are so blinded by what is personal that you do not see the universal. The blindness will not end by itself. It must be undone skillfully and deliberately. When all illusions are understood and abandoned you reach the error-free and perfect state in which all distinctions between personal and universal are no more. Search and you shall discover the universal person who is yourself and infinitely more.
Begin by realizing that the world is in you, not you in the world. Knowing yourself as the dweller in both bodies you will disown nothing. All the universe will be your concern. Every living thing you will love and help most tenderly and wisely. There will be no clash of interest between you and others. All exploitation will cease absolutely. Your every action will be beneficial, every movement will be a blessing.
Realize yourself as the ocean of consciousness in which all happens. There is no difference. A little attentiveness, close observation of oneself and you will see that no event is outside your consciousness.
—Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

To assume differences in the world is to belie this great Oneness in life.

I see my Beloved everywhere.
I see Him as the Master here and as a slave elsewhere.
He is manifest in the blooming flowers
and in the twittering nightingales.
He is resplendent as a king on the throne here
And wandering as a beggar with his bowl there.
He is a faithful devotee here and a preacher there.
Elsewhere He is the leader of a band of drunkards.
Somewhere He is declaring Himself as God
And gracefully climbing the scaffold.
He sees His own Self, hears His own Self;
There is none besides Him.
It is sheer bunk to claim
That one has seen or heard Him.
If light, it is He; if fire, there is none but He.

When I relinquished the sense of ego
The veil between us was removed
The veil-wearer has come out of the Purdah
And none remained besides Him.

Man should not die like a cat or a dog. He should leave the world better and happier than when he came into it. He must depart full of gratitude for the chance given him to see God in everything that he saw, heard, touched, smelled and tasted. He must remember the Lord, with his last breath.
